Ridwan didn't grow up around designers. He grew up around small business owners — his parents, his uncles, family friends. People who worked harder than anyone he knew, but kept getting quoted thousands of dollars for ugly, slow websites that didn't bring them a single customer.
At 17, frustrated and curious, he downloaded a free code editor and taught himself how to build websites from YouTube tutorials, late-night Discord servers and a relentless habit of taking things apart to see how they worked. His first project — a one-page site for his family's business — took him three weeks. But it worked. And then a neighbour asked if he could build one too.
What started as a favour became a side hustle. The side hustle became referrals. The referrals became Web Crafted. Today the studio is a small team of designers, developers and social media managers — all hand-picked, all sharing the same standard Ridwan set on day one: do work you'd happily put your own name on.
"Small businesses are the backbone of every community I've ever been part of," Ridwan says. "They deserve websites that respect their work — not bloated, overpriced, template-driven nonsense. That's the standard our whole team holds itself to on every single project."
